Speaking about the launch of the app, His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, said: “The RTA is keen on providing smart services that make the lives of residents easier.
The new Ap RTA Citizen app will save time and effort as it enables them to complete their transactions without having to visit RTA offices.” He added: “The app will also help reduce overcrowding at RTA service centres, and will eventually lead to the closure of some of these centres as more and more people move to using the app.” To use the app, residents will first need to create an account and then select the services they wish to use. Payment can be made using a credit or debit card, or through the RTA’s ‘Nol’ smart card.
The RTA is also working on adding new features to the app, such as the ability to book and pay for parking, and to renew vehicle registration. The app is currently available to download for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
